The Galician Seminar of Education for Peace is organizing an event reivindicativo the Universal Declaration, its contents and values, such as code of behavior for individuals, governments and states, a real political program of action to achieve a world more just, more democratic, more sustainable, ultimately, more human. The Act will take place in the Central Area, on Saturday, December 10, in Santiago de Compostela, from 13:00 hours.

With the collaboration, among others, the Galician Seminar of Education for Peace, Altermundo published in December 2008 a special devoted to 60 anniversary of the Declaration. It contains, among other things, an interview with Mr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, as well as an article of Calo Iglesias and a page of links and resources. |

On December 10, 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, whose full text of this article appears. Following this historic act the Assembly called for all member countries to publish the text of the Declaration and had to be "distributed, shown, read and discussed in schools and other educational establishments, without distinction founded on the political status of countries or territories ". |
