Loved partner, my dear partner:
The Galician Seminar of Education for Peace, which forms part, is undergoing one of its worst economic Conjuncture in its long history, from that month of December in 1985 we started to walk the path of the Education for Peace.
The reasons we have to look for them in brutal restriction of official aid and subsidies for specific projects that traditionally we were receiving, aid both public and private, and as a result of adjustment policies and strong containment of public spending undertaken by the different administrations, so very special in 2011 and 2012, causing a very strong drop in revenue from the seminar. So we had to put in place a rigorous plan for viability, highly restrictive, both in economic and labor.
As you know, the SGEP received funding for specific activities of character training, informative, etc.., To publications, teaching units, audiovisual material ... the Galician Government and its Departments, namely, of Culture, Education (Policy) and President (Cooperation), also of the Savings Bank, City Council and some of the USC (mainly in kind), which allowed the free diffusion of materials and resources to schools and institutes, organizations and teachers, institutions and media, as well as for organizing the celebration of events and anniversaries ecopacifistas more relevant (Human Rights Day, Peace Day School, for example), and Meetings Conference (Meetings on Education for Peace, 25 editions), Training Courses, lectures at schools, etc..
This policy affects real economic choking many of the Third Sector organizations and NGOs. In fact, with threats seriously desvertebrar almost all civil society structures and Galician in public participation in this matter and we have been creating in recent years.
The number of members and partners of SGEP, about 200 in Galicia, and the aid received from the Foundation Culture of Peace, also in decline for similar reasons, do not hold or permit the level of activity, nor running costs so far we were keeping, especially in personal and local.
Consequently with the above, the Board has launched, in advance, a viability plan 2011-2012 which, in short, meant the end of the employment contracts held (up to 5 people on the occasion of the Forum 2010) and the drastic savings in running costs. The reduction of staff, through arrangements agreed and friendly, also had strong economic costs-we decided colexiadamente-face.
The rise of the shares associated with / to the implementation of a shop, the possibility of private donations, and request payment of an ICO Liquidity credit, personal loans of some executives, and the aid of the Foundation Culture of Peace received no are sufficient. Even drag debt with the relevant institutional SGEP, since 2010, not yet perceive.
As you can guess, témonos and directed the provincial councils, public and private entities, ministries, foundations, etc.. looking for new resources and income. We also have offered several proposals for activities to sign new agreements Framework Collaboration realize that hope, soon, at least with the Councils of Ourense, A Coruña, Lugo, and James Shore.
Consequently with the above, the Board of Directors at its meeting corresponding to the month of April, has decided to leave the place they currently had in Street Valin 13-1 º, at the end of this month of May, and move to the Monastery of Herbón, in Standard, for free. There will continue meeting your demands and the teachers and the educational community at large also maintaining the helpline and website.
Finally, the shares corresponding to the year 2012, by the Board of Directors, to pass the collection at the end of June and not in November-December and usually did.
Restricted to the maximum the ongoing costs, seeking new sources of funding to increase revenues, the Board expects, with the help of all and all, pay the existing debt, both the ICO and directives to the people who generously made personal loans to meet Conjuncture is difficult to overcome, no doubt, as in earlier times did.
In full confidence that we move forward, received an affectionate greeting of the Board of Galician Seminar of Education for Peace.
And in his name, Manuel Dios Diz
